We interviewed Ivan Kajtaz, a progressive Croatian street workout addict that gave some valuable tips on how to build more muscle in your arms.

For a start, let us know how did you get involved in the street workout world?

I trained wrestling before and I just came to the park to do pull ups to increase my strength. I didn't even know that it was called street workout, I just saw that people do it. When I saw it I said to myself „I'm going to learn this“ and after that I saw someone doing a human flag and I wanted to learn that too. And after some time I fell in love with calisthenics!

What about your upper body routine? What does it consist of?

My upper body training contains a lot of handstand, handstand pull ups and generally everything that has to do with handstands. I also do a lot of basics exercises like weighted pull ups, weighted dips, regular push ups and a lot of sets like pull ups, muscle ups and dips in one set.


What exercises do you recommend for building your arms?

For arm muscles I recommend weighted dip and weighted pull ups – this is the best way to build your arms.

Any tips for strengthening and building arm muscle?

A tip for arm growth: Let it burn! ;) When it starts to burn stay on the bar few more seconds. Even if you cant do any more pull ups let forearms burn!

How often do you train?

I train 6 days a week: 3 days pull power and legs and 3 days press power. I train until I loose all the feeling in my muscles.

    does anyone know about a guide on how to create workouts? what a workout routine should consist of? sets and reps. I read a lot about transformation stories and how they created their own workouts, however how many exercises sets and reps if targeting strength, or cardio.
